Gmail’s recent switch to a promotions tab has generated a fair amount of buzz. Mobile use is increasing email open rates, according to a new study from marketing services company Epsilon, as more marketers develop mobile-optimized email creative and content.

With email volumes on the rise and clutter an issue for recipients, having a strong subject line is as important as ever, particularly as consumers rate the subject line as one of their top motivators for opening an email.
